Hey Mate!!

Option 2 is correct

(x+1) is a factor of x^3 + x^2 + x + 1.

Proof ;

X= -1 . Substitute in the equation.

X(-1) = (-1)^3 + (-1)^2 + (-1) + 1

X(-1) = -1 + 1 - 1 + 1

X(-1) = 0

Therefore, ( x+1) is a factor of x^3 + x^2 + x + 1

Hope this helps you!!
