Given

x = 1/√5 - √2

x = 1 - √2 ( √5 ) / √5

x = 1 - √10 / √5

Rationalising factor of √5 is √5

Now by rationalising the denominator, we get

x = ( 1 - √10 ) √5 / √5( √ 5 )

x = √5 - √50 / 5

√50 simplifies to 5√2

x = √5 - 5√2 / 5

Now squaring b/s, we get

(x)^2 = [ ( √5 - 5√2 )/ 5 ] ^2

See I am simplifying this part quickly and giving you a directly simplifies expression

x^2 = 5 + 50 - 10√10 / 25

x^2 = 55 - 10√10 / 25

x^2 = 5( 11 - 2√10) / 5(5)

x^2 = 11 - 2√10 / 5

This the required answer
