(x+1)^2=3(x-2)
x^2+2x+1=3x-6
x^2+1+6=3x-2x
x^2+7=x
7=x-x^2
7=x(1-x)

Hi.

(x+1)^2 = 3(x-2)\\\\\implies x^2 + 1^2 + 2(x)(1) = 3x - 6\\\\\implies x^2 + 1 + 2x = 3x - 6\\\\\implies x^2 + 1+6 = 3x-2x\\\\\implies x^2 +7 = x\\\\\implies x^2 - x = 7\\\\\implies x = \boxed{\dfrac{1 \pm \sqrt{29}}{2}}

Hope it helps!
