$\sf \implies {x}^{2} + 1= 0$

$\sf \implies {x}^{2} = - 1$

$\sf \implies x = \pm \sqrt{ - 1}$

$\sf \implies x = \pm i$

Hence, the roots of the given equation are i and -i
