Solution:

x + 1/x = 10/3

=> (x²+1)/x = 10/3

Do the cross multiplication,

=> 3(x²+1)=10x

=> 3x²+3-10x=0

=>3x²-10x+3=0

Splitting the middle term,we get

=> 3x²-9x-1x+3=0

=> 3x(x-3)-2(x-3)=0

=> (x-3)(3x-2) = 0

=> x-3 = 0 or 3x-2 = 0

=> x = 3 or x = 2/3

Therefore,

x = 3 or x = 2/3
