2(x-1)+1(x-4)/x-4=11/4
2x-2+x-4/x-4=11/4
by cross multiply
4(3x-6)=11(x-4)
12x-24=11x-44
12x-11x=24-44
x=-20
2(x-1)+1(x-4)/x-4=11/4
