Answer:

Using the formula:-(a+b)^2

=>(x+1/x)^2=x^2+2.x.1/x+1/x^2

=>(3)^2=x^2+1/x^2+2

=>9=x^2+1/x^2+2

=>x^2+1/x^2=9-2=7 [ANS]

 \frac{x + 1}{x}  = 3 \\  \\ x + 1 = 3x \\ 3x - x = 1 \\ 2x = 1 \\ x =  \frac{1}{2}

 \frac{ {x}^{2} + 1 }{ {x}^{2} }  \\ \\   =  \frac{ {( \frac{1}{2}) }^{2}  + 1}{( { \frac{1}{2}) }^{2} }  \\  \\  =  \frac{ \frac{1}{4}  + 1}{ \frac{1}{4} } \\  \\   =  \frac{ \frac{5}{4} }{ \frac{1}{4} }  \\  \\  =  \frac{5}{1}   \\ = 5
