If x+1/x=3

Square on both sides,

(x+1/x) ²=3²

x²+1/x²+2*x*1/x=9

x²+1/x²=9-2

x²+1/x²=7

Then again, square on both sides,

(x²+1/x²)²=7²

x⁴+1/x⁴+2*x²1/x²=49

x⁴+1/x⁴+2=49

x⁴+1/x⁴=49-2

x⁴+1/x⁴=47

I hope this much will help you
