x+1/x = √7 then find the value of x^2+1/x^2​

x +  \frac{1}{x}  =  \sqrt{7}

by \: squaring \: both \: sides \: we \: get -  -  -  -  -

(x +  \frac{1}{x} )^{2}  =( { \sqrt{7} }^{2} )

 {x}^{2}  +  { \frac{1}{x^{2} } } + 2 = 7

 {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 7 - 2

 {x}^{2}  +  \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} }  = 5
