x+1/x=8
since (x+1/x)^3=x^3 + 1/x^3 + 3(x+1/x)
so x^3 + 1/x^3 = ( x+1/x)^3 - 3(x+1/x)
= 8^3 - 3*8
=512-24
=488
since (x+1/x)^3=x^3 + 1/x^3 + 3(x+1/x)
so x^3 + 1/x^3 = ( x+1/x)^3 - 3(x+1/x)
= 8^3 - 3*8
=512-24
=488
