x²+10x+2=0

a=1; b=10; c=2

∴D= b²-4ac = 10²-4x1x2 = 100-8 = 92

Since D>0, ∴the equation has 2 equal roots

∴Roots= -b±√D/2a = -10±√92/2 = -10±4√23/2 = 2(-5±2√23)/2 = -5±2√23

Hence, roots are (-5+2√23) and (-5-2√23)
