( x )^2 +( 1 / x )^2 + 2 (x ) (1 / x)
- 2 ( x )( 1 / x) = 2
( x - 1 / x )^2 + 2 = 2
( x - 1 / x )^2 = 2 - 2
( x - 1 / x )^2 = 0
( x - 1 / x ) = 0
hence option ( c ) is correct.
