x/2 + 2y/3 =-1............(1)

x-y/3 = 3.....…....(2)

Divide 2 in (2)

By elimination,

x/2 + 2y/3 =-1

x/2 - y/6 = 3/2

5y/6 = - 5/2

on simplifying, we get

y = -3

substitute y in (1)

x/2+2y/3 = -1

on simplifying, we get

x=2
