x/2+2y/3=-1      and        x-y/3=3

:-      x/2+2y/3=-1          -(1)

       x-y/3=3                 -(2)

From (1), we get :-

(3x+4y)/6 =-1

3x+4y=-6           -(3)

From (2), we get :-

(3x-y)/3=3

3x-y=9               -(4)

Subtract (4) from (3)

3x+4y=-6

3x - y = 9

-     +     -

0  +5y=-15

 5y=-15

[y=-3]

Use value of y in (1)

x/2+{2×(-3)}/3=-1

x/2-6/3=-1

x/2-2=-1

x/2=-1+2

x/2=1

x=1×2

[x=2]

hope it helps you

Step-by-step explanation:

x/2+2y/3= -1 x-y/3=3

or, 3x+4y = -6 or, 3x - y = 9.

or, 3x = -(6+4y). or, 3x = 9 + y

so, 9+y = -6 - 4y

or, -5y = 15

  • y = -5.

now, 3x = -[6+4.(-5)]

or, 3x = -[6-20]

or, 3x = -[-12]

or, 3x = 12

  • x = 4.

I hope it is a helpful answer
