In order to factories an algebraic expressions we have two methods and the question is related to Splitting the middle term method !! Factorisation :

 \implies \tt{ {x}^{2}  - 3x + 2} \\ \implies \tt{ {x}^{2}  - 2x - 1x + 2} \\  \implies \tt{x(x - 2) - 1(x - 2)} \\  \implies \tt{(x - 2)(x - 1)}

Additional Information :

  • Basic format of a quadratic polynomial is ax² + bx+ c
  • In order to factorise x² + bx + c we have to find numbers p and q which are factors of c and even p + q = b or p - q = b
  • After finding p and q we just split the middle term as px and qx and find the required the terms needed !!
