Solution:
The Given Equation is x² - 4x - 1 = 0
Let Polynomial be f(x) = x² - 4x - 1 = 0
Now, Solving Equation!
x² - 4x - 1 = 0
By Quadratic Equation Formula!
Discriminant = b² - 4ac
Discriminant = (-4)² - 4.1.1
Discriminant = 16 - 4
Discriminant , D = 12
Now, Roots of Equation;
☞ -b+√D / 2a 0r -b-√D / 2a
☞ -(-4)+√12/2.1 0r -(-4)-√D/2.1
☞ 4 + √12/2. 0r 4-√12/2
☞ 2 + √3. 0r 2 - √3
Therefore, Roots of Equation are 2 + √3 & 2 - √3.
