AnsWer :

k = - 2.

GiveN :

  • x² + 4x + ( k + 2 ) = 0.
  • One roots is 0.

To FinD :

The value of K.

SolutioN :

We have, Quadratic Equation.

→ x² + 4x + ( k + 2 ) = 0.

☛ Compare With General Equation.

→ ax² + bx + c = 0.

Where as,

  • a = 1.
  • b = 4.
  • c = k + 2.

\rule{90}2

Let,

  • f( x ) = 0.

So,

→ x² + 4x + ( k + 2 ) = 0.

→ ( 0 ) ² + 4( 0 ) + ( k + 2 ) = 0.

→ k + 2 = 0.

→ k = - 2.

Therefore ,the value of k is - 2.
