x^2+5x-9=0

x^2+5x=9

Now adding half of the square of the coefficient of x both sides i.e. (5/2)^2

So,x^2+5x+(5/2)^2=9+(5/2)^2

x^2+(5/2)^2+2.x.5/2=9+(25/4)

{x+(5/2)}^2=(36+25)/4

x+(5/2)=root over (61/4)

x=root61/2-(5/2)

x=(root61-5)/2 and (root61+5)/2 [ans]

☺HOPE IT IS HELPFUL. ☺
