x^2+6x-7=0

=>x^2+2*3x+3^2-9-7=0

=>(x+3)^2-16=0

=>(x+3)^2-(4)^2=0

=>(x+3+4)(x+3-4)=0

=>(x+7)(x-1)=0

=>x=1,-7

Formula used

➡(x+y)^2=x^2+2xy+y^2 and x^2-y^2=(x+y)(x-y).

➡Here is how you can solve this question:

First, bring the constant term -7 to the other side.

Then add 1/2(coefficient of x)^2 to both the sides.

➡Simplify and get the answer.
