X 2.A pathway in Manju's garden is made of 100 white tiles arranged in a single row. Manju decides to add some colour to her garden by painting some of the tiles. Starting from one end, she paints every second tile yellow. Still not happy with the result, she proceeds to paint every second one of the YELLOW tiles blue. Solution :-

Let us assume that , 100 white tiles are names as 1, 2, 3, 4 ________ 100 in order .

given that, starting from 1 end she paints every second tile yellow.

so,

→ she paints yellow = 2, 4, 6, 8, ________ 100 = Total 50 .

now, given that, she paint every second one of the yellow tiles blue.

then,

→ she paints blue = 4, 8, 12, 16, __________ 100 = Total 25 .

therefore,

→ Yellow tiles = 50 - 25 = 25 .

hence, there are 25 yellow tiles in the pathway now .
