x^2-px+12=(x-3)(x-a), a&p=?​

x^2-px+12=(x-3)(x-a)

x^2-px+12 = x^2-xa-3x +3a

x^2-px+12 = x^2-(a+3)x +3a

by comparison:

-p = -(a+3)

=> p = a+3...............(i)

and

12= 3a

=> a = 4

from (i). p=7
