x^2 + x - p( p + 1)

We can write x as,

x = x + px - px

= x ( 1 + p) - px

= (p + 1)x - px

Now,

= x^2 + (p+1)x - px - p(p+1)

= x [ x + p +1] - p[ x + p + 1]

= (x + p + 1)(x - p)
