x +y/2=3/2.... iii

multiply equation ii by 6 and equation ii by 2

(x/2+y/3=13/3)*6

(x +y/2= 3/2)*2

hence:

3x + 2y = 26

2x + y = 3

y= 3-2x

substitute y in equation

3x + 2(3-2x) = 26

3x + 6- 4x = 26

-x= 26-6

x= -20

hence y is:

y= 3-2(-20)

= 3+40

y=43
