x/2-y/9=6 x/1+y/3=5 solve by elimanation method
Answers
Given Equation
x/2 - y/9 = 6 (i)
x/1 + y/3 = 5 (ii)
To Find
Value of x and y by elimination Method
First of all simplify the both equation
x/2 - y/9 = 6 (i)
Taking LCM
(9x - 2y)/18 = 6
9x - 2y = 6×18
9x - 2y = 108 (i)
Now Take (ii)
x/1 + y/3 = 5
(3x + y)/3 = 5
3x + y = 15 (ii)
After Simplification we get
9x - 2y = 108 (i)
3x + y = 15 (ii)
For Eliminating y , We should Multiply by 1 in (i)eq and Multiply by -2 in (ii)eq
9x - 2y = 108 (i)×1
3x + y = 15 (ii) ×-2
We get
9x - 2y = 108 (i)
-6x -2y = -30 (ii)
Now Subtract (ii) from (i)
9x - 2y -(-6y -2y) = 108 - (-30)
9x - 2y + 6y + 2y = 108 + 30
15y = 138
y = 138/15 = 46/5
Now Put the value of y on (i)
3x + y = 15
3x + 46/5 = 15
By taking LCM we get
15x + 46 = 15×5
15x + 46 = 75
15x = 75 - 46
15x = 29
x = 29/15
Answer
x = 29/15 and y = 46/5
Answer:
Question :-
- x/2-y/9=6 x/1+y/3=5 solve by elimanation method.
Given :-
- x/2 - y/9 = 6
- x/1 + y/3 = 5
To Find
- Value of x and y
Solution :-
Given equations :
➟ x/2 - y/9 = 6
➟ (9x - 2y)/18 = 6
➟ 9x - 2y = 6×18
➣ 9x - 2y = 108 --------- (1)
➦ Again,
➟ x/1 + y/3 = 5
➟ (3x + y)/3 = 5
➟ 3x + y = 15 ------------(2)
➵ After Simplification we get
➥ 9x - 2y = 108 -------------- (1)
➥ 3x + y = 15 ----------------(2)
➣ For Eliminating y , We should Multiply by 1 in (i)eq and Multiply by -2 in (ii)eq
➱ 9x - 2y = 108 ----------------- (1) by 1
➱ 3x + y = 15 ------------------ (2) by - 2
➣ We get
➠ 9x - 2y = 108 -------------- (1)
➠ -6x -2y = -30 ----------------(2)
➣ Now Subtract (ii) from (i)
➟ 9x - 2y -(-6y -2y) = 108 - (-30)
➟ 9x - 2y + 6y + 2y = 108 + 30
➟ 15y = 138
➟ y = 138/15 = 46/5
➣ Now Put the value of y on (i)
➟ 3x + y = 15
➟ 3x + 46/5 = 15
➟ 15x + 46 = 15×5
➟ 15x + 46 = 75
➟ 15x = 75 - 46
➟ 15x = 29
➟ x = 29/15
∴ x = 29/15 and y = 46/5
