Answer:

x=3 ; y=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

x+2y=-1. EQ. 1

2x-3y=12. EQ.2

multiplying equation 1with 2.we get

2x+4y=-2. EQ.3

subtracting EQ.2from EQ. 3

2x+4y+12=2x-3y-2

2x-2x+4y+3y=-14

7y=-14

y=-14/7=-2

substituting the value of y in equation 1

we get,

x+2×(-2)=-1

x+-4=-1

x= 3

answer verification----

substituting the value of y & x in equation 1

x+2y=-1.

3+2×-2=-1

3-4=-1

-1=-1. (LHS=RHS)
