\textbf{Answer :}

Given that,

x + 2y = 11 ...(i)
2x + y = 2 ...(ii)

Now, multiplying (i) by 2 and (ii) by 1, we get

2x + 4y = 22
2x + y = 2

On subtraction, we get

3y = 20

⇒ y = 20/3

Now, putting y = 20/3 in (i), we get

x + 2 (20/3) = 11

⇒ x = 11 - 40/3

⇒ x = (33 - 40)/3

⇒ x = - 7/3

∴ the required solution be

x = - 7/3 and y = 20/3
