Multiply (1) by 2;

2x+4y=3------------(3)

Subtract (3) from (2);

This gives-:

-3y=3/2-3

-3y=3-6/2

-3y=-3/2

y=1/2

Put y=1/2 in (1);

x+2(1/2)=3/2

x+1=3/2

x=3/2-1

x=1/2.
