Question :

  • To Expand (x-2y+3z)²

Solution :

We know that,

\red\bigstar\:\boxed{\sf (a+b+c)^2 = a^2+b^2+c^2+2ab+2bc+2ca}

Applying this Identity here,

Putting ,

  • a = x
  • b = -2y
  • c = 3z

\large\purple{\underline{\mathfrak{Substituting\:the\: values}}} :

\sf \longmapsto (x -2y+3z)^2

 \sf \implies x^2 + (-2y)^2 + (3z)^2 + 2(x)(-2y)+2(-2y)(3z)+2(3z)(x)

⟹ x² + 4y² + 9z² + (-4xy) + (-12yz) + 6xz

⟹ x² + 4y² + 9z² -4xy -12yz + 6xz

More to know :

  • (a-b)³ = a³ -b³ -3ab(a-b)

  • (a+b)³ = a³ + b³ + 3ab(a+b)

  • a³+b³ = (a +b)(a² + b² -2ab)

  • a³- b³ = (a - b)(a² + b² +2ab)

  • (a + b+c)² = a²+b²+c² + 2ab + 2bc+ 2ca
