x/3+2y=5

x/3=5-2y

x=3(5-2y)

x=15-6y.......(2)

if L.H.S.are equal in (1) and (2)eq.

x=x

4-2y=15-6y

-2y+6y=15-4

4y=11

y=11/4

put the value of y in eq.(1)

x=4-2y

x=4-2(11/4)

x=4-11/2

x=8-11/2

x=-3/2
