↪2x +5y = 9..........(2)

[ multiply by 2 in (1) and subtract its ]

↪2x +4y = 10......(3)

Subtract (3)-(2)

=>-y = 1

y = -1

[ by (1) ]

=> x +2×-1 = 5

=>x = 5+2

=>x = 7
