Answer:

x + 2y = 6 ____( i )

2y - x = 2

or -x + 2y = 2

or x - 2y = -2 ____( ii )

subtract ( ii ) from ( i )

x + 2y = 6

-x + 2y = 2

4y = 8

y = 8/4

y = 2

substitute y = 2 in equation ( i )

x + 4 = 6

x = 6 - 4

x = 2
