Could you please next time specify what method should we use to solve this? I am using the elimination method:

Let us eliminate y.

x+2y+9=0.

Multiply 2 on both sides.

2x+4y+18=0.

Now, subtract 2x+4y+18=0 and 3x+4y+17=0​.

2x+4y+18  =0\\3x+4y+17=0\\\\--------\\-1x+1=0\\x=-1\div-1\\x=1.

Now, substitute the value of x in any equation.

x+2y+9=0\:\: ; \: x=1.\\1+2 y +9=0\\y=-10 \div2\\y=-5.
