Answer:

x/3+1=7/17

Taking 1 to R. H. S

x/3=(7/17)-1

On right side take LCM=17

x/3=(7-17)/17

x/3=-10/17

Taking 3 to R. H. S

x=(-10/17)*3

x=-30/17

Hope that it may be helpful......

Answer:

x=-\dfrac{30}{17}

Step by Step Explanation:

\dfrac{x}{3}+1=\dfrac{7} {17}

Simplify both sides of the equation.

\dfrac{1}{3}x+1=\dfrac{7} {17}

Subtract 1 from both sides.

\dfrac{1}{3}x+1-1=\dfrac{7}{17} -1

\dfrac{1}{3} x=-\dfrac{10}{17}

Multiply both sides by 3

\bigg(\dfrac{1}{3}x\bigg)\times 3=\bigg(-\dfrac{10}{17}\bigg)\times 3

x=-\dfrac{30}{17}
