Answer:

f(x) = x^3 +6x^2+5x-12

if x+3 is a factor then,

(x+3=0,x= -3)

f(-3)= should be 0

by factor theorem.

f(-3) =

(-3)^3 +6(-3)^2+5(-3)-12

= -27+54-15-12

= -54+54

= 0

therefore x+3 is a factor of x^3 +6x^2+5x-12.
