As ratio means the division we get
(x+3)/(x+11) = (x-2)/(x+1)
Now by simply doing cross multiplication
(x+3)*(x+1) =(x-2)*(x+11)
x²+x+3x+3 = x²+11x-2x-22
x²+4x+3 = x²+9x-22
x²-x²+4x-9x+3+22=0
-5x+25=0
25=5x
therefore,
x = 25/5
x= 5
