(Multiply eq by 6)

2x+3y=18...(1)

x-2y=2

i.e. x=2+2y...(2)

Substitute eq(2) in eq(1).

2(2+2y)+2y=18

4+4y+2y=18

6y+4=18

6y=14

y=14/6=7/3.

Substitute in eq (2).

x=2+2(7/3)

x=2+14/3

x=20/3.

Answers are x=20/3 and y=7/3.
