x+y=42........ (1)

5x/6-y/3=0

(Multiplying Both sides by 6)

5x-2y=0........(2)

Now,

(1)+(3),

x+5x+y-y=42+0

6x=42

x=42/6

x=7

Now putting the value of x=7 in equation (1) we get,

7+y=42

y=42-7

y=35
