Answer: x = 6 and y = 36

Step-by-step explanation:

x/3 + y/4 = 11

4x +3y = 132 (i)

5x/6 - y/3 + 7 = 0

5x - 2y = -42 (ii)

from (i) and (ii) we get:

4x + 3y = 132 (i)

5x - 2y = -42 (ii)

multiplying (i) by 2 and (ii) by 3 we get:

8x +6y = 264 (iii)

15x - 6y = -126 (iv)

adding (iii) and (iv) we get:

23x = 138

x = 138/23 = 6

so, x = 6

putting x in (i) we get:

4x + 3y = 132

4 × 6 +3y = 132

24 + 3y = 132

3y = 132 - 24

3y = 108

y = 108/36

so, y = 36.

arunanand30: thank u so much
Surfer: vaidehijagarapu2002 done only a mistake at adding in 15x and 8x
