Answer:

x = 6 , y = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

x/3 + y/4 =4

=> 4x + 3y = 48 ___(1)

5x/6 - y/8 = 4

=> 20x - 3y = 96

=> 3y = 20x - 96___(2)

sub. eq(2) in eq(1), we get,

4x + ( 20x - 96 ) = 48

=> 24x = 144

=> x = 6

sub. x=6 in eq(2),we get

=> 3y = 120 - 96

=> 3y = 24

=> y = 8
