→ Not all the food you eat is digested and absorbed. The food that cannon be digested moves from the small intestine into a wide tube called the
l a r g e i n t e s t i n e .
Here, most of water present in the waste is absorbed.
The waste food now which is almost solid is stored in the last part of the intestine called the
r e c t u l u m .
It is then passed out of the body through the
a n u s .

→ Ruminants are hooved, plant-eating animals that digest their food in two steps.
Some examples are :- Cow , Buffaloes , Goats etc.
They have complicated stomachs consisting of 4 chambers.
Fiod that is swallowed goes into the first chamber called r u m e n .
Here, it is partially digested and is called c u d.
It then goes to the second chamber from where it's returned to the mouth thourough chewing. This process is called r u m i n a t i o n.
This is why these animals are called
r u m i n a n t s.
After chewing, the food is swallowed for a second time and then digested further in the remaining chambers.
It is finally sent to the
s m a l l i n t e s t i n e, where the absorption of the nutrients occur.

EGESTION :
➠ The products eliminated during the process of Egestion are undigested material remaining from the process of digestion.
➠ It occurs via anus and sometimes via mouth.
➠ It is a portion of the digestion process.
➠ The material that is egested as faeces.
RUMINANTS :
➠ Ruminants are a group of mammals that eat plants. These animals have four-chambered stomachs that help them to digest food.
➠ Ruminants are the animals that feed on grass. Cows, goats, buffaloes are examples of such animals who are known as ruminants.
➠ These animals have a sac-like formation known as the rumen and swallow the grass fast.
➠ The rumen is known as the first stomach, and within it has four compartments.
➠ Food is digested in a partial way here, and this is known as the cud.
