Answer:

The value of x=4 and y=4.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given : Equations x+3y=16 and 2x-y=4

To find : Solve the equations by elimination method?

Solution :

x+3y=16 .....(1)

2x-y=4 .....(2)

To eliminate y multiply the equation (2) by 3 and Add in (1)

Multiply by 3 6x-3y=12

Add in (1) x+3y+6x-3y=16+12

7x=28

x=\frac{28}{7}

x=4

Substitute the value of x in (1),

4+3y=16

3y=16-4

3y=12

y=\frac{12}{3}

y=4

Therefore, The value of x=4 and y=4.
