By elimination method,

x-3y=8....(1)

3x+y=1 ...(2)

Multiplying equation (1) with 1 and equation(2) with 3

x-3y=8....(1)

9x+3y=3..(3)

:.10x=11

:.x=11/10

Substitute the value of ‘x’ in equation(1)

x-3y=8

:.11/10-3y=8

:.11-3y=8×10

:.11-3y=80

-3y=80-11

-3y=69

:. y=-23

The solution of given simultaneous equations are (x,y)=(11/10,-23)

I hope this will helpful to you!!

Thank you!!
