 \sqrt{x}  - 4 +  \sqrt{2}  - x

 \sqrt{x}  +  \sqrt{2}  - 4 - x

  \sqrt{x}  + 1.4 - 4 - x

 \sqrt{x}  - x  - 7.4

 \sqrt{x}  - x = 7.4

 -  x\sqrt{x}  = 7.4

  - \sqrt{2x}  = 7.4

x =  \frac{7.4}{ \sqrt{2} }

x =  \frac{7.4}{1.4}

x =  \frac{74 \times 10}{14 \times 10}

x =  \frac{74}{14}

x =  \frac{37}{7}

x = 5.28
