Answer:

-(x + y) = (-x) + (-y)

Given that,

x = -4/7, y = 2/5

L.H.S = -(x + y) = -(-4/7 + 2/5) = -(-6/35) = 6/35

R.H.S = [-(-4/7)] + (-2/5) = 4/7 - 2/5 = 6/35

L.H.S = R.H.S

Given ; x = -4/7 and y = 2/5

To Find ; -( x+y) = (-x) + (-y)

Solution ; x = -4/7 and y = 2/5

first solving LHS

-( x+y)

Putting the values of x and y

x = -4/7 and y = 2/5

- ( -4/7 +2/5)

-( -6/35)

then solving RHS

x = -4/7 and y = 2/5

(-x) + (-y)

6/35

Since LHS = RHS , Hence it is verified
