⟹ \frac{x - 4}{7 - x}  =  \frac{5 - x}{4}

⟹4x - 16 = 5(7 - x) - x( 7- x)

⟹4x - 16 = 35 - 5x - 7x +  {x}^{2}

⟹ -  {x}^{2} +  4x + 5x + 7x - 35 - 16 = 0

⟹ -  {x}^{2}  + 16x - 51 = 0

⟹ - ( {x}^{2}   -  16x + 51) = 0

⟹ {x}^{2}  - 16x + 51 = 0

Here we use quadratic formula to find out the roots:-

a=1,b=-16,c=51

⟹ \frac{ - b± \sqrt{ {b}^{2}  - 4ac} }{2a}

 ⟹  \frac{16± \sqrt{ {( - 16)}^{2}  - 4(1)(51)} }{2}

 ⟹  \frac{16± \sqrt{256 - 204} }{2}

⟹ \frac{16± \sqrt{52} }{2}

 ⟹  \frac{16±2 \sqrt{13} }{2}  =  \frac{2(8± \sqrt{13} )}{2}

 = 8± \sqrt{13}
