SOLUTION :-

(x + 4) (x + 1) - (x - 1) (x - 2) = 0

⇒[x(x + 1)+4(x + 1)] - [x(x - 2)-1(x -2)] = 0

⇒(x² + x + 4x + 4) - (x² - 2x - x + 2) = 0

⇒(x² + 5x + 4) - (x² - 3x + 2) = 0

⇒ x² + 5x + 4 - x² + 3x - 2 = 0

⇒ 5x + 3x + 4 - 2 = 0

⇒ 8x + 4 = 0

⇒ 8x = - 4

⇒ x = - 4/8

•°• x = - 1/2

Answer:

-1/4

Step-by-step explanation:

[x (x+1) +4(x+1)] - [x(x-2)-1 (x-2)]=0

( x^2 +x+4x+4)-(x^2-2x-x+2)=0

(X^2+5x+4) -(x^2-3x+2)=0

X^2+5x+4-x^2+3x-2=0

x^2+5x+4-x^2+3x-2=0

8x+2=0

8x= -2

×= -1/4
