To solve such equations, we shoukd remember the following points while shifting the number with any sign to the right or left side :-

+ will change into -

- will change into +

× will change into ÷

÷ will change into ×

Now coming to the question,

\dfrac{x}{5} + 5 = 2

Multiplying both sides by 5, we get,

➾ x + 25 = 10

Moving constant 25 to the right, we get,

➾ x = 10 - 25

By calculating, we get,

➾ x = -15

Value of x = -15

Verfication :-

\dfrac{x}{5} + 5 = 2

\dfrac{-15}{5} + 5 = 2

-3 + 5 = 2

LHS = RHS ✔✔
