x=5/6+15/18-10/12
x=5*3/6*3+15/18-10/12
x=15/18+15/18-10/12
x=30/18-10/12
x=5/3-10/12
x=5*4/3*4-10/12
x=20-10/12
x=10/12
x=5/6

therefore (x-1)^3= (5/6-1)^3
=(5-6/6)^3
=(-1/6)^3
=-1/6*-1/6*-1/6
=-1/216

hope it helps you

Ranjana12: but given answer is -1/216
Adarshthakur11: nope it must be wrong
Ranjana12: even -1/2 is not available in options
Adarshthakur11: ok is their any mistake in my calculation??
Ranjana12: (x-1) is to the power 3 given hai
Adarshthakur11: are apne question me btaya hi ni
Adarshthakur11: ok done
Ranjana12: Thanks and sorry also
Adarshthakur11: its ok :-D

The Value of (x-1)^3 is -\frac{1}{216}

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

x = \frac{5}{6} +\frac{15}{18}-\frac{10}{12}

We need to find (x-1)^3

Solution first we will find the value of x by solving the same we get;

we would make the denominator common using LCM we get;

x = \frac{5\times6}{6\times6} +\frac{15\times2}{18\times2}-\frac{10\times3}{12\times3}\\\\x = \frac{30}{36}+\frac{30}{36}-\frac{30}{36}\\\\x = \frac{30+30-30}{36}\\\\x =\frac{30}{36} =\frac{5\times6}{6\times6} = \frac{5}{6}

Now x = \frac{5}{6} we will find (x-1)^3.

(x-1)^3 = (\frac{5}{6}-1)^3

Now we will make the denominator common by LCM.

(x-1)^3 = (\frac{5\times 1}{6\times 1}-\frac{1\times6}{6})^3\\\\(x-1)^3 = (\frac{5}{6}-\frac{6}{6})^3 = (\frac{5-6}{6})^3 = (-\frac{1}{6})^3\\\\(x-1)^3=-\frac{1}{6}\times -\frac{1}{6}\times -\frac{1}{6} = -\frac{1}{216}

Hence (x-1)^3 = -\frac{1}{216}
