Given,

x²+5x-6=0

where,

a = 1

b = 5

c = -6

Discriminate ( D) = b²-4ac

 =  {(5)}^{2}  - 4(1)( - 6) \\  = 25 + 24 \\  = 49

Hence the discriminate = 49

x + 5x - 6 = 0

 =  > 6x - 6 = 0

 =  > 6x = 6

 =  > x =  \frac{6}{6}

 =  > x = 1
