x-5y=4 -----(1)
2x+y=7 ----(2)

multiplying equation no.2 by 5
10x+5y=35-----(1)
adding equation no.1 and 2
11x=39
x=39/11

put x=39/11 in equation no.1
39/11-5y=4
39-5y=44
-5y=44-39
-5y=5
y=5/-5
y=-1

(x,y)=(39/11,-1)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

(x-5y=4.........1)×1

(2x+y=7........2)×5

Adding equation 1and2 ,we get

x=39/11

Putting the value of x in equation 1

Then,

39/11-5y=4

39-5y=44

-5y=44-39

-5y=5

y=-1

So ,the value of x is 39/11

And y is -1
